Today I’ll share to all of you how to reset your user password in your ubuntu operating system??

First to do is we must make booting over recovery mode.. Turn on your computer then choose “Ubuntu, with Linux (recovery mode)” at the GRUB list.

Please wait for a moment till the booting process is done so all of you will get the choices like the picture below..
root Drop to root shell prompt

Choose the “root Drop to root shell prompt” so you will be facing up with the shell that ready to get the order..
For the first all of you must be make a decision to the username that will be get reset and if you already forget the username, here is it how to get the username easely.. Write it down..
ls /home
Then u will get the username and please to remember it so you won’t be forget again..

Write it down to the terminal
passwd username
change the username that you already have it before then insert the password that you like..

Nb: Password never be seen on the terminal so you have to do it carefully..

And after all the things has done don’t forget to write this down to the terminal
1. sync
2. reboot -f

The command “sync” is used to ensure that password that already changed could be well saved through your computer.. and for the reboot -f command is use to restarting your computer..

Good Luck..

Thanks to the Tahutek for the tips..
